Why Badou Ndiaye will be a good signing for Everton this summer

Everton are once again linked with Stoke City‘s Senegal midfielder Badou N’diaye. Wolverhampton Wanderers and Turkish champions Galatasaray are also interested in the player. (h/t The Sun)

The 27-year-old signed for Stoke from Galatasaray this January but the Potters have gotten relegated. The player showed glimpses of what he is capable of in the midfield area, which is enough to attract attention from the English top-flight.

Although the Senegalese joined the Bet365 stadium only this year, he might find it tough to reject an opportunity to continue playing top-tier football.

Everton need quality midfielders after selling Davy Klaassen and offloading Wayne Rooney. Manager Marco Silva must build a good squad this season to better the club’s performance levels.

Here’s why Toffees will do good business by signing Ndiaye this summer:

Player Analysis – Badou N’diaye

Age – 27

Main Position – Central Midfielder

Ndiaye is a complete central midfielder with various attributes. The 27-year-old is a nice blend of defensive skills and attacking nous. He is adept at defending through balls, passing from the midfield and shooting from a distance to keep the defence alert.

He has an average tackle rate of 4.1 per game, an impressive stat which epitomises his expertise at stopping opposition attacks.

Badou N’Diaye

The Senegal international is great at dribbling past people in tight situations to open up spaces for shots on goal. He has a take-on/dribble rate of 1.3 per game, depicting his propensity to juggle past opponents into small spaces.

However, Ndiaye lacks discipline. He often tends to jump into tackles which are not necessary. That said, Silva can turn him into a controlled player and allow him to express his qualities on the pitch without being rash.

Verdict

It’s a good move for both parties because Ndiaye must continue playing in the Premier League to enhance his reputation. Meanwhile, Everton need a midfielder who can add bite to their squad.
