Reports claim that Everton are interested in signing former Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj from Real Sociedad to bolster their forward line. The Belgian was a shining light at Old Trafford upon his arrival in 2013 but has faded away since.
The 23-year-old is now playing in the Spanish La Liga and had a decent season which helped him to go to Russia with the Belgian World Cup squad. Everton under Marco Silva are probably looking for a wide player who can make a difference.
The added advantage with Januzaj is his age, and with Silva aiming for a long-term project at Goodison, the Belgian can come and be a part of it for more than just a few years.
Here’s everything you need to know about the player and why he can be a difference-maker at Everton:
After breaking through at Old Trafford under David Moyes, Januzaj had a lean patch which led his departure from the club. However, the Belgian is slowly regaining his original touch which enhanced his prominence earlier.
The 23-year-old doesn’t have the raw pace to terrorise a defence but utilises his sumptuous ball control to go past defenders before they know it. He has a dribble rate of 2.4 per game, which epitomises his ability to glide past opponents and create space for a shot or a cross/pass.
The Belgian’s eye for picking out incisive through balls towards a goal is impeccable, at an average of 1.3 in La Liga. The reason because of which Januzaj drifted away from the Premier League is his lack of physicality when defenders make contact. He tends to go down very easily, which is not entertained by the referees in English top-flight.
He has the technical abilities to be a potent threat but rather has to learn to stay strong by coming back to England and working with Marco Silva, who is an excellent man-manager.

Overall, Januzaj has possesses the talent to be a good addition to this Everton squad. He will surely learn more under the manager and become a player he was destined to be.
