A Coup? Three Reasons Why Manchester United Should Sign Gareth Bale

Manchester United, the 20-time English champions, are on a mission to reclaim their lost throne and are counting on Jose Mourinho, the Portuguese tactician, to reconquer the Premier League title which they last won under talismanic Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013. The Red Devils had a flying start to the new campaign where they locked horns with city rivals Manchester City for the top of the table spot. But a late stumble saw them drop points and are now second in the league, with the Citizens are already 8 points clear of Mourinho’s men.

United had a high spending summer but are looking to break the bank yet again in January with a view to close the gap at the top and push for title glory. If reports are believed to be true, they are currently pursuing Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale whose Los Blancos career now seems uncertain due to successive injury blows. United are plotting a move despite his fitness concerns and the £72m rated Welshman should grab the opportunity in order to resurrect his stalled career.

His arrival to Old Trafford might prove to be instrumental for both parties.

Premier League Experience

Bale completed the then world record transfer to Real Madrid back in 2013. The ‘Welsh Wizard’ had six successful Premier League seasons with Spurs prior to his high-profile move and was also honoured as Premier League Player of the Season following a scintillating 2012-13 campaign. Bale, although started his career as a left-back, was later promoted to an attacking role and gained all his fame mostly playing on the wings.

He scored 55 times for the North London heavyweights and his fitness, as well as agility, were highly acknowledged during his time back in England. The Welshman made 127 appearances in his last three season at Tottenham and the familiar surroundings might help him to recover and help United in challenging for the title.

Major Success At Bernabeu

Bale had huge pressure to justify his £85m price tag and the Welshman made a massive impact despite a slow start and guided the Spanish giants to lift the prestigious Champions League trophy by defeating arch-rivals Atletico Madrid. He was influential in their 2015-16 and 2016-17 Champions League triumphs and also left an impact in limited outings during Real Madrid’s 2016-17 La Liga victory.

The former Tottenham Hotspur wingman has missed 40 of Real’s previous 60 outings and is still sidelined with a new thigh strain. However, he has shown his class as well as quality whenever he has entered the pitch and his experience of the highest order will help the Red Devils aim for greater glory in the years to come.

World Class Player Who Will Have Quality Resources Around Him

No matter what his current status his, there is no doubt regarding his stature as he can easily be labelled as a ‘world-class footballer’. United requires a player of his profile up front despite having the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Anthony Martial, and Marcus Rashford. The trio has been quite efficacious so far but is lacking the experience what the 28-year-old Welsh winger already holds.

He is dynamic, versatile, pacy, skilful and a great dribbler who can beat any defence all alone and with Paul Pogba behind, Gareth Bale will set the Premier League by storm during his second stint here in England.
