Go For It Koeman – This 19 Goal French Attacker Would Be A Perfect Fit For Everton Next Season

Olivier Giroud

Why Olivier Giroud Will Be An Amazing Signing For Everton

Ronald Koeman and Everton FC are showing no signs of slowing down after announcing two more signings this week and are reportedly eyeing Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud as the club’s next big signing this summer. With the announcement of Sandro Ramirez and Michael Keane yesterday, Everton’s summer spending has already reached £90million and could pass the £100million mark if they end up signing Olivier Giroud.

There is no doubt that Ronald Koeman is setting up a team at Goodison Park that could push for a Champions League position this season, with the possibility of silverware. The addition of Olivier Giroud could bring about a major change in Everton’s attack, with the Frenchman adding much-needed experience and accuracy in front of goal.

With Romelu Lukaku almost set for a move back to his former club Chelsea FC, the 30-year-old Giroud could be the most sensible signing for the Toffees to take up the striking duties. The Frenchman has an excellent scoring record in the Premier League and is one of the most underrated strikers in Europe. Giroud’s strength lies in his ability to stay unmarked by the opposition’s defence and his manoeuvrability inside the box. The Frenchman is also known for his heading ability and can be a real threat in the air.

Arsenal vs Manchester United

Giroud would definitely prefer a place in Koeman’s XI given that he spent some significant time on the bench behind Alexis Sanchez at the Emirates last season. The French striker had already stated his requirement for first team football.

He said: “Wenger is counting on me even though he hasn’t used me much. I will not settle for limited playing time (next season) like I have this season.”

According to Jacomuzzi, Olivier Giroud could cost around £20 million and that the Frenchman’s most likely destination this summer could be the Goodison Park. Despite finishing the season with 19 goals for both France and Arsenal, Olivier Giroud might not be the first choice this season, with Arsenal almost close to announcing the club’s new first choice striker, Alexandre Lacazette.

With Giroud in the squad, Everton will have an efficient striker who has plenty of experience playing top class football, including Champions League. Giroud could also bring winning mentality to Goodison Park having won quite a few titles in his time. At 30 years of age, Giroud is in his peak form and might have his best saved up for last.
