Go for it Eddie Howe – Bournemouth would do an excellent job by signing this 12-goal Danish star in the summer

Bournemouth Opinion: Should Eddie Howe sign Yussuf Poulsen

After a promising start to the season, Bournemouth are currently going through a very sticky spell. The Cherries have won just once in their previous six league matches that has seen them drop to tenth on the table.

Bournemouth are losing their plot and Eddie Howe quickly needs to find a way to arrest his team’s problems. Howe’s team have played some exciting brand of football this season, with the likes of Callum Wilson, Ryan Fraser and David Brooks impressing with their link-up play.

But in the last two league games against Liverpool and Wolves, Howe’s men have scored just once and conceded four goals.

Callum Wilson has been Bournemouth’s chief source of goals this season having netted 10 in 21 games. Ryan Fraser and Josh King have chipped in with five and nine goals respectively but that isn’t enough for a team targeting a spot in the Europa League.

Clearly, Wilson requires more support up front and Howe should bolster his attacking options in the summer transfer window. To put things into perspective, the South Coast side should make a move for RB Leipzig star Yussuf Poulsen.

Yussuf Poulsen is currently considered as one of the promising young strikers in the Bundesliga. The Danish forward has been in fantastic form for RB Leipzig this season, notching 12 goals and two assists from 22 league appearances.

Since signing for RB Leipzig from Danish club Lyngby back in 2013, Yussuf Poulsen has been a key player in the club’s meteoric rise in Germany as well as in Europe. In fact, he has been an indispensable element of Leipzig’s attack.

Standing at 6ft 4in tall, Poulsen can play anywhere across the attack but he is at his sumptuous best when unleashed centrally. He is a fast, agile and powerful striker who has a good eye for goal and is capable of outmuscling defenders in the box.

The Dane is very strong in the air and has the awareness and the instincts to lose his marker in the final third. Not only is he excellent at hold-up play and a terror in front of goal, but also Poulsen’s work ethic is commendable.

The Denmark international has the ability to link-up with his teammates in the final third, often dropping deeper to receive the ball and initiate attacks. In reality, he has all the attributes to take the Premier League by storm.

Conclusion

Poulsen definitely fits the bill perfectly at the Vitality and the Dane will be the ideal player to provide cover and competition for the likes of Callum Wilson and Joshua King.

Hence, Bournemouth must do everything in their powers to sign Poulsen from RB Leipzig ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.
