Go For It Arsene – This Deadly French Duo Can Fire Arsenal To The Premier League Title

Antoine Griezmann and Alexandre Lacazette

Griezmann And Lacazette At Arsenal? That Would Make Them Unbeatable!

Apart from the 4-0 drubbing at the hands of Liverpool earlier in the season, Arsenal have had a decent campaign so far. With 13 points in 7 games, the Gunners sit 5th in the table, joint on points with Chelsea.

Despite all the moans surrounding Arsene Wenger’s extended contract with the club, the Frenchman has done a good job this season so far. By the look of things, it could only get better for Arsenal as the season progresses.

Although summer signing Alexandre Lacazette hasn’t enjoyed an explosive start to his Arsenal career, the Frenchman seems to be slowly getting into his groove after his last couple of performances. In seven appearances so far, Lacazette has netted 4 goals for his side. While it might be fewer than the other top strikers in the League, Lacazette can definitely improve his goal tally if Antoine Griezmann joins him at the Emirates in the upcoming January transfer window.

The Atletico Madrid star was heavily linked with a move to Manchester United in the summer but with Atletico Madrid’s transfer ban, a deal never materialised. In a recent interview with Match of the Day magazine, Lacazette had this to say,

“Yeah [Griezmann is my best mate], we are very good friends and have lots of fun,”

“Our nicknames for each other are Griezzy and Lacaz. If Griezzy visits me in London, I’m going to ask him to sign for Arsenal!”

Alexandre Lacazette

Although he might not have completely meant it, the duo of Griezmann and Lacazette does look like every opposition’s nightmare.

With Alexis Sanchez all but likely to leave the club, Arsene Wenger will have to bring in a world-class player to replace the Chilean. With Atletico’s ban set to be lifted in January, Griezmann could be a genuine option for the Gunners.

The French forward has seen incredible success so far in his career with over 80 goals in 167 appearances for Atletico. His move to Arsenal could add a different dimension to their attack, possibly making the Gunners a title-winning side.

The Premier League title and Champions League has long eluded Arsenal and the addition of Griezmann could be the answer to the London club’s title hopes. Griezmann’s skills combined with Lacazette’s accuracy could prove to be the goal scoring combination for Arsenal.

But it remains to be seen if Arsene Wenger would be willing to spend the big bucks in order to lad the French superstar in 2018.
