Go For It Wenger – This £30m Mexican winger Could Be A Great Upgrade On Walcott

Hirving Lozano

Why Arsenal Should Sign Hirving Lozano In January

Having retained the services of Arsene Wenger, Arsenal will look to fight for silverware this season in all fronts but injuries and inconsistencies have already hampered their chances in the league. The manager will not be happy with the options at his disposal, even after spending well in the transfer window before the start of the season, as he is on the verge of losing two of his most important players.

Chilean winger Alexis Sanchez and German playmaker Mesut Ozil are both in the final year of their contracts and are yet to sign new ones. Both players seem reluctant to put pen to paper and reports claim that the Gunners might lose one or even two of them in the January transfer window.

So naturally, Wenger wants to keep the doors open for possible replacements and one player who has now been linked with a move to the Emirates is Mexican winger Hirving Lozano. According to reports from ESPN, Arsenal are considering meeting his release clause, which could be close to £30m. But who is Lozano?

A product of the Pachuca academy in his home country, Lozano is a versatile attacker, who can play anywhere in the front line. Capable of playing as a false-9, the 22-year old is at his best playing on the left-wing and has been in terrific form for Dutch outfit PSV Eindhoven, scoring 6 goals in 6 games, having joined them this summer.

He has already made 22 appearances for his national side and his return of 5 goals shows that he already belongs at the highest level.

Known for his strength and ability to dribble past opponents on the flank with ease, the Mexican ace is an excellent crosser of the ball, someone who the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Olivier Giroud can fall in love with.

He has a sweet foot that can produce beautiful crosses and will only improve Arsenal’s productivity in front of goal. He lacks discipline and often is warned by the ref but at his age, he will learn to keep his emotions in check, especially if he plays for a manager like Arsene Wenger.

At the Emirates, the lack of genuine wingers has been alarming for the manager. Alexis Sanchez is the only natural wide-man in the first-team, with Theo Walcott falling down the pecking order. Lozano, in his current form, is an upgrade on the English winger, who has been linked with an exit.

Even if Arsenal do not lose Sanchez and Ozil, Lozano, at the moment, is a necessity for the squad at the Emirates, as he makes Arsenal a stronger and a more dynamic outfit.
