“Give him the job”, “Bring on PSG”: Some Man United fans can’t contain their joy after 3-0 win vs Fulham + Match report

Fulham 0-3 Man United: Pogba crushes Fulham to take Red Devils into top four

Paul Pogba scored twice as Manchester United made it 10 wins in 11 matches under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a 3-0 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage – taking them to fourth place in the Premier League.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, with one eye on Tuesday’s Champions League clash with Paris Saint-Germain, started with Romelu Lukaku up top, with Juan Mata and Anthony Martial complementing him from the flank.

It was Fulham who started the game stronger and should have taken the lead when Luciano Vietto squandered a fabulous chance inside two minutes. Andre Schurrle fired over from close-range after Aleksandar Mitrovic harried Chris Smalling into another mistake moments later.

After riding their luck, Manchester United took the lead with a superbly constructed goal in the 14th minute that stunned the home fans. Ander Herrera deftly evaded a sliding challenge from Jean-Michael Seri and picked out Martial, who played a short pass to Paul Pogba and the French midfielder blasted from an acute angle to beat Sergio Rico at the near post.

The Red Devils doubled their advantage 10 minutes later with a sensational Martial move on the break. The Frenchman picked the ball up inside his own half and ran through the Fulham defence before finishing neatly past Rico.

Solskjaer’s men looked to get a third before half-time and kill the game and Phil Jones almost got himself on the scoresheet when he fired from the edge of the box, only to be tipped over the bar by Rico.

Fulham, who started the day seven points from safety, looked unlikely to mount a comeback in the second half. And the game was put to bed after the hour mark when Le Marchand fouled Mata in the box and Pogba slotted home the resultant penalty for his eighth goal in nine games under Solskjaer.
