A rather positive week for the Red Devils. Three points against Crystal Palace, a Premier League debut for Marouane Fellaini and Adnan januzaj,  Rooney’s impressive second-half performance, things are way better than it was. Goals from RVP and Rooney helped United to a 2-0 victory as they stand 5th in the table behind Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool and City.

Here are some headlines circling around:

The Everton midfielder who made his move to Old Trafford on the final day of the transfer season, made his debut when he came on as a substitute and the Belgian has expressed that he is pleased with his debut as a United player.

Quoted by the Skysports, Fellaini said:

“I was happy with my first 30 minutes. I’ve tried to do my job – winning duels, clearing balls, playing clean.”

Fellaini, who is yet to play in the Champions League in his career might get a chance this Tuesday when United host Bayer Leverkusen on the opening day of the competition.

“I hope to start in the Champions League. It will be my first experience in that competition and I’m looking forward to it. But, the coach decides. It’s important we make a good start.”

Fellaini added: “It was a nice experience with the fans. They all supported me and I felt confident.

“There were fans with wigs in the stands which is always nice. I want to give everything for this club, for the team-mates and fans. In all things, you feel this is one of the biggest clubs in the world.”

In other news, Robin Van Perise having tasted success with his new club is eager to lay his hands on more trophies. The 30-year old hitman has admitted that he is targeting two or three trophies this season.

“I have three more years to go and I would like to stay longer,” the 30-year-old said in an exclusive interview for MUTV. “I know, and I see people around me, making decisions where I think these guys will look back and say ‘was that a good one?’. I don’t want that.

“I want to play as long as possible at the highest level.

“That (winning trophies) is what it is all about,” he said. “Last year we got one trophy in four.  We have the chance to get five this year. How many do we get out of those five? In my opinion we should be able to win two or three.”

And before leaving, watch this amazing piece of skill from United’s best midfielder. Michael Carrick dances his way through Crystal Palace players with a Zidanesque 360.
