It was reported last week that Arsenal are very close to sign Ciprian Marica (free agent). But the latest reports reveals that deal is not yet finalized and La Liga side Getafe are also having talks with the former Shakhtar Donetsk star.
Ciprian Marica become a free agent after leaving Schalke in the Summer. He was tipped to complete his premier league move after his agent confirmed the on going talks with Arsenal.
His agent said ( according to Prosport.ro ),
“Marica is a really great striker who has already got experience in western European football and so it’s natural that big clubs are eying his career,”
“He’s close to joining Arsenal, but we have to wait for the next week.”
The former Schalke star’s agent had hinted that a move to north London was the most likely for his client, with an Emirates Stadium switch in the ‘pipeline’.
However, The Daily Express reported that Spainish team Getafe are also lining-up a move for the 27 year old striker. Getafe’s main target is Yossi Benayoun and they may go for Marica only if they fail to bring in Yossi Benayoun.
Another premier league club, West Ham are also closely monitoring the Romanian international.
