It has been a while since Renato Sanches’ name has come up in news, rumors and speculations, courtesy Manchester United’s lookout to add a complete midfielder in their squad. United’s interest in the player is known to all and as such United were very serious t about signing in the player.
According to Portuguese newspaper Record, Manchester United and Benfica have come to “Gentleman’s agreement” with regards to transfer of Renato Sanches in the summer.
United have offered 40m Euros and 20m Euros as bonuses for the player, however Benfica is looking to change the offer as they want more than 40m Euros for a transfer and want United to pay less than 20m Euros as bonuses. This will give Benfica’s President Luis Filipe Vieira a chance to say that he was able to sell a player at a higher fee.
While the whole thing has not been confirmed by the respective clubs, the absence of fee agreement makes us doubt the news to be true after all.
