What Does The Future Hold For This Liverpool Star Who Is On Loan

The transfer market is buzzing with activity and Jurgen Klopp is possibly one of the busiest managers. He is on a mission of redeveloping Liverpool and this is his first summer transfer market as Liverpool’s head coach. He is looking to bring young, fresh talent to Anfield  and also give the marching orders to some of Liverpool’s players. This is the time when players on loan will be assessed on the basis of their performances over the season. Liverpool had many of its players out on loan and one of them is Luis Alberto. Here is a brief background of Liverpool’s midfielder.

Luis Alberto joined Liverpool from Sevilla in June 2013. The versatile midfielder was recruited from the La Liga outfit Sevilla by Brendan Rodgers. Luis Alberto found it difficult to adjust the life in England and made some mere appearances. After an unsuccessful season at Liverpool, Alberto moved back to La Liga, playing the next season on loan at Malaga. He made 9 appearances for Malaga and scored 2 goals. He then joined Deportivo La Coruna on loan and made it to the first eleven regularly. In 25 appearances for Deportivo, he scored 6 goals and provided 7 assists.

It is reported that Liverpool are ready to hear offers for the Spanish midfielder and have placed an asking price of 4.6 million euros on the midfielder. Jurgen Klopp is quite impressed with the midfielder’s performances in La Liga over the past two seasons. According to the Daily Star,  the 23-year-old will return to Anfield this summer and Jurgen Klopp is willing to give the player another chance if the club does not receive a price matching their asking price. Klopp is said to be impressed with the midfielder’s performances for Deportivo La Coruna and has no issues in letting the player compete for a place in the starting eleven if he remains at the club.

Luis Alberto spent time at Melwood at the end of last year and got a chance to meet Jurgen Klopp. Here is what he had to say for the German manager:

“It is obvious that having Klopp as a manager is an extra motivation to return to Liverpool. When I was there I could see that he has changed everything, the atmosphere and the club. You can feel it. Everything I heard about him was good. He is transforming Liverpool.”

Alberto’s future at Liverpool is uncertain with Liverpool ready to sell him if an offer equivalent to their asking price is received. If he stays at Liverpool, he might not get proper game time as he will have competition for a place in the starting eleven by the likes of Coutinho, Firmino and Lallana. So it would be better for Luis Alberto if he parts ways with the club.
