Fulham Opinion: Josh Onomah would be a smart addition for the Cottagers
According to a report from The Telegraph, Fulham are interested in signing Tottenham starlet, Josh Onomah.
Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino has dumped Josh Onomah, who has made 32 appearances for Spurs but only seven of those have been starts – and none came in the Premier League. He was left off Tottenham’s tour to Asia and have been told they can find new clubs.
The 22-year-old had a loan spell at Aston Villa in the 2017-18 campaign but last term’s stint at Sheffield Wednesday was ruined by hamstring injuries and he only managed 15 appearances.
Well, Fulham manager Scott Parker should give Onomah the platform to revive his career which has stagnated badly in the last couple of years.
Parker has bolstered his ranks with the signing of Brighton winger Anthony Knockaert on a season-long loan, with a view to a permanent deal. They have also brought in Ivan Cavaleiro on loan from Wolves.
Along with the extension of Aleksandr Mitrovic’s contract, the Cottagers have shown they are amongst the favourites for promotion. With the trio in the attack, there won’t be many teams who can stop them.
However, the Fulham boss should now shift his focus towards strengthening his options in midfield after allowing Jean-Michael Seri to join Turkish side Galatasaray. The Londoners do need creativity from the midfield as well and a move for Josh Onomah would be best for all parties involved.
Onomah has failed to live up to his potential at Tottenham but he is still 22 and has time to put his career back on a track. The midfielder has Championship experience and has the ability to perform a key role in a side challenging for promotion, mostly as a back-up to skipper Tom Cairney.
He seemingly has all the talent and qualities to make a difference at Craven Cottage, but Parker would expect more consistency from the England under-20 World Cup winner.

Having known and coached Onomah when working with Tottenham’s academy, Parker will be keen to get the best out of the young midfielder.
With the likes of Mitrovic, Cavaleiro, Cairney and Knockaert, the Fulham boss will hope to see the England youth international make an impression next term.
Verdict
Onomah is a talented individual and with his athleticism, passing ability and energetic drives from the midfield, he could be a real asset for Fulham under Parker.
