Chelsea are ready to splash the cash on a defender at this point. After chasing several defenders and being unsuccessful the Blues are now apparently prepared to offer £47 million for PSG defender Marquinhos.
The Brazilian is a highly rated youngster who is unable to get regular game time at Parc des Princes due to David Luiz and Thiago Silva. Even though the club has said several times that they don’t want to sell him, the player has been linked with a move away from the club.
Le10 report has stated that the Blues may manage to persuade Paris Saint-Germain into selling him with their mega bid. Antonio Conte wants to sign a defender desperately and seemed to have wasted most of the summer window running after Kalidoou Koulibaly from Napoli. They were also linked with Juventus duo Bonucci and Chiellini but that deal did not take place either. However, the chase for AC Milan youngster Alessio Romagnoli is still on.
