After not being offered a contract from Chelsea, Frank Lampard is all set to join MLS outfit, La Galaxy. Despite claims that the club legend agreed to take a pay cut (as much as 150% lesser than his original wages), Chelsea board has not offered Lampard a contract yet and the race to sign the midfield maestro was ultimately won by La Galaxy.
With clubs like Manchester United, PSG and QPR also interested in his services, it is understood that La Galaxy have emerged as the club which has lured Lampard more. As a club loyal and legend, Lampard did not want to play for title rivals United or for city rivals QPR.
Galaxy have been tracking Lampard for quite a long time now and he is believed to be a perfect replacement to David Beckham who left them earlier this year.
With 194 goals for Chelsea in his career, Frank Lampard is the second highest goal scorer of all time for the Blues, 8 short of Bobby Tambling’s 202. There are lots of other records which Lamprad could break in the next 4 months for Chelsea, for example he could become the only player in the history of English football to score 10 goals in 10 successive seasons. He currently has 8.
