Fantasy Premier League (FPL) Review – Gameweek Six

Another week of Premier League action goes by with few results raising some eyebrows as it is always the case in this fantastic league.

While league leaders and European champions Liverpool continued their winning start to the season (in the league) with a hard-fought 2-1 win at Chelsea, defending champions Manchester City thrashed hapless Watford 8-0 to send a daunting message to their rivals.

On the other hand, leaky Arsenal just managed to scrap past Aston Villa and Manchester United were handed another defeat by a superb West Ham side. Everton lost at home to promoted Sheffield United and Wolves scored a 95th minute equaliser to break Crystal Palace hearts.

Below we take a look at some of the stars and flops of this week’s Fantasy Premier League (FPL):

FPL Gameweek Six – Stars

Kevin de Bruyne (9.9m) and Bernardo Silva (7.8m) starred for Manchester City in their 8-0 romp of Watford. The former assisted two and scored one goal, while the latter scored a hat-trick and was one of the star men in the game.

For Liverpool, Trent Alexander-Arnold (7.1m) scored a great goal and defended well. He should count himself unlucky to not keep a clean sheet.

Aaron Cresswell (4.9m) scored a stunning free-kick for West Ham and also helped the team keep a clean sheet in a fantastic win over Manchester United.

Regular scorers Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (11m), Callum Wilson (7.8m) and Harry Kane (11m) were on the scoresheet to light up the weekend.

Chris Wood (6.2m) was the surprise star man from the FPL point of view as he scored a brace in Burnley’s 2-0 win over Norwich City.

FPL Gameweek Six – Flops

Sadio Mane has been in good form and was in the FPL team for most people. However, the Liverpool star had an off game, partly due to the fact that he got a knock during the game against Chelsea.

Marcus Rashford not only failed to score, but couldn’t play the 90 minutes against West Ham due to an injury.

The biggest surprise was Raheem Sterling not even playing a minute of football in the weekend against Watford. The Manchester City man was included in probably more than 85% of the FPL teams.

What to look forward to in Gameweek Seven

Liverpool are up against promoted Sheffield United, who struggle to score goals. So keeping Trent, Virgil van Dijk and either of Salah or Mane could prove to be worthwhile.

Chelsea are at home to Brighton, meaning users can keep hold of Tammy Abraham (provided he gets over his knock during the week).

Manchester United and Arsenal play in a game where clean sheet may just not make an introduction. Aubameyang will have chances to increase his tally for the season.

Manchester City are away to poor Everton, which refers to the fact that the likes of de Bruyne, Bernardo Silva, Sergio Aguero are options for users to keep an eye on.

Most probable goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet is Adrian of Liverpool.
