FPL Game Week 4 Review – Aguero braces, West Ham being the surprise package & Liverpool’s clean sheet

The big boys are back with clean Sheets

Liverpool managed to shutdown Burnley with a 3-0 scoreline and kept their first clean sheet of the season much to the delight of FPL managers, who doubled up on their assets.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.0m), in particular, seems to be at the right places doing the right things for Liverpool. He was top for both touches in the final third and created big chances for a defender in the entire game week.

The right-back now has three assists in the first four game weeks.

Alexander-Arnold should be chosen when it comes to picking a Liverpool defender for your FPL teams – unless you want to save £0.5m with Virgil van Dijk (£6.5m).

Man City, on the other hand, despite losing Laporte (£6.5m) early in the game, held tight at the back to manage their second clean sheet of the season.

With Laporte out of action, Otamendi, at £5.4m, is an easy way into Man City’s defence.

Sergio Aguero leads Man City’s attack

Aguero (£12.1m) has scored back-to-back braces now and along with De Bruyne (£9.8m), the pair has scored or assisted in every game so far this season.

While the likes of Pukki, Abraham and Haller have cropped up in many of the Fantasy teams, Aguero, despite having ownership of 24%, has fallen under the radar as he deserves much higher ownership for his exploits.

The Argentine is the leading scorer in the FPL with 6 goals and an assist in the first four games. With Man City’s run of fixtures, it is a huge risk to not own him.

West Ham United – a surprise package?

West Ham deservedly won their game against Norwich and the big man Sebastien Haller (£7.5m) delivered once again with the second-highest xG (expected goals) in game week 4 overall.

The West Ham midfield looked nice and creative with Yarmolenko (£5.9m) scoring and the three attacking midfielders playing a total of 9 key passes.

The man to watch out for in the Hammers side is definitely Felipe Anderson. The Brazilian attacker passed the eye test and looked dangerous all evening as he dribbled past Norwich’s defence with ease. He was unlucky not to have scored or assisted on the night.

With Anderson (£6.9m), Lanzini (£6.5m), Yarmolenko (£5.9m) and Haller (£7.5m) upfront, expect West Ham to score a lot of goals this season.

Things to watch out for ahead of Gameweek 5

Arsenal’s fixture takes a major turn

We are about to see big fixture swings for several teams going into game week 5 but it is Arsenal who have a major advantage.

Arsenal only face Manchester United in game week 7 between now and game week 17 when they host Manchester City. It is a run of the fixture that could see Aubameyang (£11m) leading the Gunners’ attack, Pepe (£9.4m) getting into the score sheets and the likes of Ceballos (£5.7m) finding his feet in the Premier League.

However, do not go anywhere near their defence. The game against Tottenham was evident that the Gunners have no clue of what they are doing at the back.

Kolasinac (£5.4m), with no threat of Monreal, could be worth a punt but expect Arsenal to leak plenty of goals.

Callum Wilson Overlooked?

Bournemouth’s upcoming fixtures are really strong with the potential for Wilson to go on a goal-scoring streak. They only play two of the ‘big six’ between now and game week 14. These are the two with the worst defensive records as well – Arsenal and Manchester United.
