Three players Manchester United could sign instead of Willian

Willian has been one of the most dynamic players in the Premier League over the last few years. The Chelsea winger is an excellent attacker who loves one-on-ones, stepovers and is adept at putting in some great crosses. He’s also an excellent set-piece taker and is great while shooting from distance.

Reports suggest that Manchester United are interested in signing Willian to take over that right-wing spot that has troubled them for a while now. However, if they’re unable to land Willian, here are three alternatives for Jose Mourinho to consider.

Ivan Perisic

The Croatian winger can provide the necessary width to make an impact in the Premier League. Perisic is an excellent crosser of the ball and is quite impressive at finishing as well.

A move for the Inter Milan man will certainly lift United’s play and could add some life into their attacking unit. Perisic has the attributes required to make a big difference and playing with the likes of Lukaku, Sanchez and Pogba would only help him deliver better results.

Gelson Martins

The Portuguese winger is another player Mourinho could consider as an alternative for Willian. He is pacey, agile and often comes with a bag of tricks. While he isn’t on the same level as the Brazilian, he still has the ability to cut in and put in crosses for the likes of Lukaku to finish.

Martins would be a great asset for the Red Devils and he could truly make a solid impact for the club next season.

The Swedish winger’s stock will rise after the World Cup. After all, he has been instrumental in a lot of their successes this time. The RB Leipzig winger is not your conventional wide-man but his versatility means he could fit in anywhere up front.
