Forget This £35m Attacker – Here Are 3 Super Alternatives Liverpool Should Target

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain

Three Players Who Liverpool Can Target Instead Of Arsenal’s Oxlade-Chamberlain

Jurgen Klopp’s first summer at Anfield gave a clear view on how he intends to spend the transfer kitty in his time at Liverpool. So, it has been easier for the fans to differentiate genuine rumours from fairy tales. One such rumour that has to be genuine is Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to Liverpool. The English midfielder will be out of contract with Arsenal at the end of next season and Liverpool are one of the few clubs that are ready to spend £35m on him this summer.

But Arsene Wenger will not want to let him leave at the end of the current season and this might push Liverpool into the transfer market for another versatile player. The ‘Ox’ can play as a part of the midfield three or on the wing and there are very few players in the transfer market who can replace such a star. Here are three such alternatives that Klopp can look at instead of the Arsenal man:

Felipe Anderson (Lazio)

Linked with a move to Anfield last summer, the Brazil midfielder is one of the most versatile players in Serie A at the moment and is a superb option for Jurgen Klopp. He can play as a part of the midfield three and also as an outright winger and his versatility can help solve a couple of problems at Liverpool. With 4 goals and 13 assists in all competitions this season, he has been in terrific form and could improve the Liverpool squad instantly.

Felipe Anderson

Isco (Real Madrid)

The Spanish midfielder is among the best in Spain at the moment but is finding it hard to play regularly at Bernabeu under Zinedine Zidane. He signed a contract extension with Madrid recently but is wanted by a host of Premier League clubs. Liverpool have reportedly met his agent and father recently to try to convince him to move to the Merseyside and Klopp will love a player of his calibre. He can dictate terms in the midfield and can also play an attacking role when needed, making him a perfect fit for Liverpool.

Isco

Jakub Blaszczykowski (Wolfsburg)

Another player constantly linked with a move to Liverpool is Klopp’s former colleague Jakub Blaszczykowski. One of the most versatile players in the Bundesliga, the Polish star has not been in great form this season but he can play in a variety of roles at Anfield and at 31, his experience will also come in handy. He has just 3 assists to his name in 27 games in all competitions this season but playing under Klopp might help him get back to his best.
