Three Alternatives For Kylian Mbappe Who Manchester United Can Consider

Manchester United were dealt a huge blow today after it was revealed that French giants AS Monaco have rejected an offer for United’s top transfer target Kylian Mbappe. A report from the Guardian claims that United made a £72m bid that was rejected and it is hard to see the Red Devils spend more than that on a teenager.

Mbappe was considered as a first team option next season and now they have missed out on him. So who can United now target after missing out on Mbappe? Here are three exciting alternatives that United should look at:

Douglas Costa (Bayern Munich)

The pacey Brazilian winger is unsettled at the Allianz Arena and is a far more established star than Mbappe is. He only has 7 goals and 9 assists this season and is not in the plans of Carlo Ancelotti at Bayern. He has already been linked with an exit and English club Liverpool are reportedly interested in his signature. He may also come at a lesser price and can act as a first team star for United next season.

Ousmane Dembele (Borussia Dortmund)

Another teenager that United can target is Dortmund’s sensation Dembele. With 9 goals and 20 assists to his name this season, the 19-year old is one of the most exciting stars in Europe and is currently settled at Dortmund. However, with United in desperate need of such attacking talent, Mourinho should try to lure him out of the club at the end of the season. The experience he has gathered at the highest level at his age makes the French international a great option for United.

Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal)

The most productive player for the Gunners this season, Sanchez could leave the club if they fail to qualify for the Champions League and the Old Trafford could be a decent destination for the 28-year old. He has 24 goals and 18 assists to his name and is an impact player. Arsenal will not be ready to let him join a direct rival but United in the past, have lured a number of players from the Emirates and Sanchez could be the next one in line.
