Two Ryan Sessegnon alternatives for Tottenham Hotspur – including this Bundesliga sensation

According to reports, Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur, who were initially in pole position to sign Fulham wonder kid Ryan Sessegnon, could actually miss out on the services of the youngster this summer, with Manchester City reportedly entering the race.

As per reports from Sun, Pep Guardiola is keen to secure the services of the 17-year-old, who has made a huge impression in the Championship this season and is already regarded as one of the most highly talented teenagers in European football.

Aside from Manchester City, Tottenham will also face stiff competition from Manchester United, Real Madrid and even Bayern Munich. Therefore, one could sense that it might turn out to be a little too difficult for Spurs to lure in the highly-rated youngster this summer.

In this article, we will talk about two alternatives, Spurs should target as they look to boost their attacking department in the upcoming January transfer window.

Christian Pulisic

Borussia Dortmund starlet Christian Pulisic is one of the most highly talented players in world football. The American international, who rose to prominence just 12 months after his professional breakthrough, has now transformed into one of the key players in the current Dortmund squad.

Especially this season, where the Black and Yellows have struggled with the frequent injuries of star players like Marco Reus, Mario Gotze, Andre Schurrle, Andriy Yarmolenko and Maximilian Philipp, Pulisic has emerged as a real star in the attacking department.

Even though his performances this season have been very inconsistent, the teenager has appeared quite effective for Dortmund overall.

The 19-year-old will be an interesting addition to Spurs. His pace and tenacity coupled with his ability to make an impact would surely benefit coach Mauricio Pochettino next season.

Federico Chiesa

Like Christian Pulisic, Federico Chiesa is also a young sensation thriving in one of Europe’s biggest leagues.

Son of former Serie A star, Enrico Chiesa, Federico has been one of the rising stars in the Italian top flight this season. The 20-year-old has been a real find for Fiorentina this campaign.

Despite his lack of experience, Chiesa has already been a first team regular for the Violas, featuring in 25 matches in the league this season, during the course of which, the Italian has been involved in ten goals.

Hugely known for his versatility, Chiesa is someone who can add a whole new dimension to Spurs’ attacking department. Despite being only 20 years of age, the Italian youth international has a maturity well beyond his years while his impressive adaptability has helped him emerge as one of Italy’s brightest prospects in recent times.

Chiesa would be a perfect fit for the Lilywhites, considering the fact that head coach Pochettino is fond of having versatile players at his disposal.
