Forget Ryan Sessegnon – Here Are 3 Solid Alternatives Who Liverpool Can Target

Ryan Sessegnon

Three Replacements For Ryan Sessegnon Who Liverpool Can Target

Liverpool were heavily linked with Ryan Sessegnon before news emerged that the Reds were ready to give up on Ryan Sessegnon and concentrate on signing other targets instead. The 17-year old is one of the most exciting players around in the England circuit and was in impeccable form this season for London club Fulham.

Liverpool were reportedly in pole position to sign him up but it is now understood that they have withdrawn their interest after feeling that the player is not committed to the club. Sessegnon would have solved a genuine problem at Anfield and if they miss out on him, they will have to look elsewhere to add some competition to James Milner at the left-back spot. Here are three alternatives for Liverpool to look at.

Andrew Robertson (Hull City)

Though not a name many Liverpool fans want to see on their team sheet, Robertson is one of the best players in the left-back position in the league at the moment. He is one of the few players who can keep their head high after a disastrous campaign at the KCOM and could be on the move to a Premier League club. At just 23, he seems to be a superb long-term option for the Reds. However, it is to be seen if Klopp believes that he is the right man for the club.

Mattia de Sciglio (AC Milan)

Though not a genuine left-back, De Sciglio is one of the most versatile fullbacks in Europe and Liverpool can target him instead of Sessegnon. He picked up 2 assists in 25 appearances in Serie A this season and is a perfect fit for Klopp’s style of play at Liverpool. The 24-year old has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs and if Milan are ready to sell, Liverpool should make themselves one of the first teams to express interest in him. Surely, he is a superb alternative for the Fulham starlet.

Faouzi Ghoulam (AS Napoli)

Another name that is constantly doing the rounds in this position is Napoli’s Faouzi Ghoulam. The 26-year old Algerian international was the first choice for the Italian outfit last season, making 29 appearances in the Serie A and was in impeccable form at both ends of the field. He is out of a contract at the end of the next season so Napoli might be forced to sell and Liverpool should surely look at him as an option this summer.
