Forget Rondon – Newcastle signing this 25-year-old La Liga star would get the best out of Almiron

Newcastle United Opinion: Should the Magpies sign Loren Moron?

Newcastle United only have Salmon Rondon on loan from West Bromwich Albion, with no option to make the move permanent. This gives Rafael Benitez a big headache as the Magpies boss needs a striker to shoulder the team’s burden.

While new midfielders and another winger might be on his mind, Benitez also needs to add another striker to his sheet. One name that Newcastle should consider is Real Betis star Loren Moron.

The La Liga star has struggled to step up in his first full season and yet, the 25-year-old has still managed to produce 10 goals this season. Despite that, the Spaniard has shown a consistent goal-scoring record for Real Betis, with double-figure hauls in his last two seasons.

This includes 37 goals in 58 appearances for the La Liga side but that’s not what will endure him to the fans. It’s his work rate both on and off the ball that will help him get a look out in the Premier League, along with his rather incredible finishing.

The 25-year-old, despite being a centre-forward, is known for his defensive work rate and while he excels at that, it’s his offensive abilities that Newcastle United need.

The Magpies have added Miguel Almiron in the winter window and the Paraguayan is a creative genius. But he needs someone ahead who can finish the chances.

That’s exactly who Moron is and even on his worst day, the Spaniard is a much better striker than Salomon Rondon. The 25-year-old’s link-up play is world-class but more so, it’s his creativity which will help take the burden off Ayoze Perez and Almiron. But that’s only if Newcastle United make a move for him.

The 25-year-old has already revealed that he rejected a move to West Ham United (Football Espana) at the start of the season to stay at Real Betis. However, if he does decide to leave next summer, Newcastle have to make a push.
