Three Alternatives For Romelu Lukaku Who Chelsea Can Target

Antonio Conte has decided to end Chelsea’s relationship with star striker Diego Costa and has already told the player that he is no longer in the plans for next season. Though the Spaniard might fetch big bucks this summer, Conte will now have to search all over the transfer market for replacements. One player who was constantly linked with the club was Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian has decided to quit Everton in search of European football and Chelsea are in a fight with Manchester United to land him this summer. However, Everton are holding out for a record fee and Conte does not seem too happy in splashing such cash. But he still needs to find a replacement for the outgoing Diego Costa. So who can Conte target this summer? Here are 3 alternatives for Romelu Lukaku who Chelsea can target.

Edinson Cavani (PSG)

The Uruguayan international was on fire for the French outfit last season, playing as the lone striker, but the lack of progress in Europe and the shocking loss of the league title has seen PSG quickly turn to Dortmund star Pierre-Emerick-Aubameyang. This will push Cavani down the pecking order and he might be tempted to leave. Though he may not be a long term option given that he is 30, he would surely be an effective addition to the Chelsea squad.

Alexandre Lacazette (AS Lyon)

Arguably one of the best finishers in the world football at the moment, Lacazette has finally decided to leave Lyon this summer and was reportedly close to a move to Atletico Madrid. But the transfer ban on Atletico Madrid means that he is still in the market for a new club. Chelsea need a genuine striker who can replace Costa and there are very few names better than Lacazette at the moment. He may not have previous experience of playing in England but is a genuine goal scorer who would be a great hit at Stamford Bridge.

Alvaro Morata (Real Madrid)

One of the most wanted players in Europe at the moment, Morata is right up there with the most effective players in front of goal last season. However, he has not been able to establish himself in the first team under Zinedine Zidane and is considering quitting the Bernabeu this summer. Manchester United and AC Milan are closely monitoring his situation but Chelsea can offer him the chance to lead the attack of their side, which might be enough to lure him to London.
