Forget Rodgers: Top 3 Managers Who Would Bring Back The Glory Days For Liverpool

Share

While last season the supporters were of the opinion that Brendan Rodgers was the messiah that Liverpool needed, the tables have turned pretty fast. Some dismal performances by the side has meant that Liverpool have slipped in the table and at the moment are at 12th. Brendan Rodgers is certainly facing the heat and the management and the supporters cannot be blamed for this. Rodgers was given a huge transfer budget and he spent every bit of it. The least that he could have done is be less rigid about some of his decisions and change a few of his ideas. But already some names as his replacement have come up and here we give three such names.

Jurgen Klopp

The Borussia Dortmund manager is one of the hottest properties and this would be a dream come true for the fans. Klopp has worked on a very tight budget throughout his career and achieved great things.

He has the Bundesliga behind his name, a competition he has had to win defeating giants Bayern Munich. A tactical master, Klopp would be the most ideal candidate to replace Rodgers at the moment, but then question remains as to why would he want to leave Germany for a club like Liverpool, which has an inferior squad than Dortmund.

Unai Emery

Liverpool had previously hired a former Valencia manager in the name of Rafa Benitez and we all know how it went. This time they have yet another chance to get a former Valencia man, Unai Emery, who is now at Sevilla.

He has done a great job with the Sevilla side and made them the Europa League champions last season. The 43 year old manager would bring in the fresh blood needed at Liverpool at the moment and the players would get motivated by him. Emery would be a brilliant choice and could lead the club to glory.

Steve Clarke

Clarke has been the Liverpool assistant manager previously and thus has a rapport with the management. Clarke last managed West Brom a season ago and since then has not taken up another job.

If Clarke is appointed the supporters of the club would be left disappointed and there is a chance of outrage against the FSG. But if the American owners decide to ghost run the club, then Clarke might be the ideal man for the job. It cannot be expected that Clarke would bring in a lot of new ideas to the platter, but then the operations would be a lot smoother under his stewardship.
