Though they failed to work as a unit, the midfield counterparts turned out to be more inefficient as the absence of goal scoring midfielders was clear. Luka Modric and Toni Kroos were preferred in the central roles while Isco and Dani Ceballos got deprived of enough starts.

Van de Beek can be the catalyst to the low-spirited Madrid midfield, given his goal tally is higher than all the midfielders in the current Madrid squad combined. The Dutch prodigy can play in the hole and cover the central midfield void as well.
The Los Blancos have already made their intentions clear with a clan of marquee signings and missing out on Van de Beek would complete everything. Betting on young talents like Van de Beek would rarely go awry.
