Forget it Rodgers – Leicester City would be better off not signing this Bournemouth speedster and here’s why

Leicester City opinion: Should the Foxes make a move Jordon Ibe?

Leicester City’s season has been an inconsistent one. It’s had its highs and lows. The arrival of Brendan Rodgers provides room for optimism. Under the former Liverpool boss, the club has started to form an identity, playing some impressive football.

Rodgers does need a few transfer windows to add the players he wants/needs to improve Leicester City and one of his main concerns should be Jamie Vardy. The 32-year-old has been phenomenal under Rodgers, doing close to nothing under former manager Claude Puel.

But despite his age and various other factors, Vardy is still the club’s top scorer with 18 goals. In second place comes James Maddison, who has netted seven goals but the former Norwich City man has been the club’s creator in chief.

This season, the 22-year-old has been the only player to create 100+ chances in the Premier League, showing that Rodgers has a core to utilize next season. But as mentioned above, Leicester City need the right additions.

They can no longer target players like Rachid Ghezzal or Jordan Ibe, with the Sun reporting as much. It looks like the former Liverpool man is one of Brendan Rodger’s top targets for next summer. as the Leicester City boss looks to transform the foxes.

But if he thinks that adding a Bournemouth flop will help him do that, then he’s dead in the water. The 23-year-old has only netted 5 goals since joining the club in 2016, taking a year and a half to score his first.

Add just nine assists to that and you have 14 goal contributions for a fee of £15million. More than anything, that showcases just why Leicester City shouldn’t even be considering a move for Ibe.

While the former Liverpool man may be young at the age of 23, he’s no worse than Demarai Gray, although the former Birmingham City man has a better chance to grow. Ibe, on the other hand, has completely fallen out of favour at Bournemouth, starting just nine games this season.

Furthermore, he’s managed only three goals this season, while in comparison, Wes Morgan and January arrival Youri Tielemans have managed the same.

Conclusion

Jordan Ibe is far from the player they should be targeting. The club should be looking towards Ryan Fraser, David Brooks and Callum Wilson. Jordon Ibe should be the last name on their transfer list, especially if the club ever wants to become a top-six or even top-four side.
