Chelsea youngster Callum Hudson-Odoi has been offered a chance to go to the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich following in the footsteps of the likes of Reiss Nelson and Jadon Sancho, as he looks to get more playing time.
However, while the Blues have so far rejected any move for the 18-year-old winger, both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are keen on bringing in the young star.
The 18-year-old has been a revelation and is among Chelsea’s best youth academy prospects, but with playing time reduced to close to nothing since his inclusion in their first-team, it looks like Hudson-Odoi may look elsewhere for a place to build his future. That being said, here are a few replacements that Chelsea can target.
The Manchester City youth product has attracted interest from Real Madrid in recent months, with the Los Blancos very much interested in prying him from the Etihad Stadium. However, while no move has materialised so far, the 19-year-old would replace Hudson-Odoi brilliantly for Chelsea. Not to mention, it would be a masterstroke picking up a young talent from a Premier League rival.
Given the fact that Diaz’s contract does expire at the end of the season, this makes it the perfect time to make an approach for the 19-year-old Spaniard, especially if the Blues lose Callum Hudson-Odoi.
The Spaniard’s pace and his bag of tricks make him a great prospect, but that combined with his goal threat simply adds to his value.
Any Ajax starlet is a class act but 21-year-old David Neres simply takes things to another level with his performances for the Eredivisie side recently. Not only has that seen his market value shoot up, but it has attracted the attention of clubs from all over the world, which includes Borussia Dortmund among others.
However, it’s no surprise why the world is after him, with the 21-year-old finishing the previous season with 15 goals and 14 assists in all competitions for Ajax. This season as well has seen Neres hit another level, with 2 goals and a further 7 assists in the Eredivisie, making him a great target for any side.
But what makes him a great replacement for Hudson-Odoi is not just his pace and ability in front of the goal but the fact that Neres sees the future and is more than willing to adapt to it. The 21-year-old could be exactly what they need but in the end, it’s up to Maurizio Sarri.
The top choice to replace Callum Hudson-Odoi would be Bayer Leverkusen’s Paulinho, a young Brazilian speedster with an eye for goal. While the Bundesliga giants did sign the 18-year-old only recently, there is still a chance for Chelsea to make a move for him.
Not only will his pace, trickery and even the label of Brazil’s biggest talent be a massive assest, but his ability to only grow from here adds to everything. While Bayer Leverkusen will not let go of their man easily, Chelsea should give it a try.
