Forget Hernandez – Here are 3 quality alternatives Celtic can target including 4-goal Chelsea starlet

Celtic have had a fantastic season in the Scottish Premier League and also won the Scottish cup to become the first Scottish club in the history to claim back-to-back domestic trebles.

Brendan Rodgers has done a brilliant job and it is clear to see that the players in the team are head and shoulders above the rest of the league in terms of quality.

Unfortunately, given the success of the team, it is no wonder that other clubs are already showing interest in some of their star players and because of this, Brendan Rodgers is already trying to recruit himself to give his squad depth in case of summer departures.

One name that has been linked to them a lot over the last few weeks is Abel Hernandez, who has brought quality to the Hull squad over the last few years but has decided to run down his contract and move onto pastures new.

Leeds United have been linked with the striker as well and if Celtic fail to land their man, here are three strikers that Brendan Rodgers can look to move for instead:

Tammy Abraham

The young Chelsea striker had a mixed season on-loan at Swansea but when he has started the games, he has 4 goals and 1 assist in 15 appearances, which is not a bad record for the striker’s first season in the Premier League.

The Chelsea hierarchy may look to loan him out for another season and Celtic seem like the perfect rung in the ladder between the Championship and the Premier League.

Tammy Abraham

Abraham can test himself against strong defences but also thrive in an attacking team. Brendan Rodgers must surely be at the front of the queue for the young striker.

Wilfried Bony

The Swansea player has not had a good time of late and only managed 15 appearances for Swansea this season because of injury problems. It is a real shame for the Ivorian target man because he is undoubtedly talented.

What he needs is for a big club to take a risk on him and take him back to his best form and Celtic might be the ideal team for him. Brendan Rodgers also has a lot of history with the player, having experienced the big striker’s best season at Swansea.

Wilfried Bony

Swansea’s relegation could pave the way for a reunion between the two and see Bony recapture his best form in Scotland.

Salomon Rondon

The final name on the list is a bit of a long shot but could prove to be a bit of a coup if Celtic could pull it off. Rondon did not have the best of seasons for West Brom and only managed 7 goals in 32 appearances but he would be an absolutely quality signing for the SPL.

Salomon Rondon

Rodgers seems to be looking for a powerful striker to play up top and the allure of Champions League football may tempt Rondon away from the Championship.

It would take a big fee to make West Brom part ways with him but Celtic do have the money if they believe it to be a viable option. One to look out for perhaps.
