Two players instead of Jack Grealish who Tottenham can sign

Tottenham Hotspur have not yet added any new players to their squad this summer. Manager Pochettino is not a spendthrift man who likes to bring in new players on a regular basis but the club are going to have to splash out the cash at some point or the other. It’s going to be hard for Spurs to keep up with their rivals, given today’s competition and demand in the market.

As Tottenham begin a new chapter in their new football stadium, Pochettino will also be aiming to claim his first trophy with the club. Though Spurs have transformed into a new team under the Argentine, the club have failed to win a trophy.

Spurs have been linked with Aston Villa youngster Jack Grealish over the last few days. Pochettino is reportedly interested in signing the youngster who has been steadily progressing over the years. Spurs are confident they can negotiate a £20million agreement with the Villans, but is Grealish really the best option for the club?

Granted, Tottenham are low on funds due to their new stadium construction but if they are going to spend, they might as well dig deep and snap up someone who can take them to the next level.

Jack Grealish

Grealish is a talented midfielder with a lot of potential and the youngster is certainly destined for greater things. But what Spurs need at the moment is a more complete and finished product.

Here we take a look at 2 alternatives Spurs could sign instead of the Aston Villa man.

Christian Pulisic

The American has been linked with a number of clubs over the summer. At the age of just 19, he has shown immense maturity and growth in his game. He is an explosive midfielder who is versatile enough to play any role in the attack.

Pulisic made a total of 33 appearances in the Bundesliga last season, scoring 4 goals and providing 5 assists. The £62m-rated star possesses all the qualities to flourish in Pochettino’s midfield. He would thrive alongside the likes of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen.

Christian Pulisic

The 19-year-old, though expensive, would be a statement signing by Tottenham and he would take their game to the next level.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

The Lazio man is one of the most wanted players in Europe. His impressive displays for the Serie A outfit have seen him attract interest from a number of clubs around the world. Savic is a class act on the ball, with his passing and distribution being key. He averaged a pass success rate of 79.9% in the Serie A last season.

Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

The 23-year-old also links up well with his teammates. He’s constantly on the move, which makes it very hard for opposition defenders to mark the player. Savic averaged 2.6 shots per game in the league as well.

He’s technically brilliant and can play anywhere in the midfield. He would bring a sense of stability and cohesion to the squad. Savic won’t come cheap but he does guarantee quality.
