Three Replacements For Eric Dier Who Tottenham Can Target
Tottenham Hotspur have a tough summer ahead of them as Mauricio Pochettino needs to find the right players for his squad if they are to compete for the title next season. It will not be easy for them to find the right quality at the right price in this transfer market but that is not the only problem that Pochettino has before the start of the next season.
A few of this first team stars have constantly been linked with an exit and one player now extensively linked with a move to Manchester United is versatile Englishman Eric Dier. Tottenam are reportedly asking for around £50m, which Manchester United might be willing to pay if they fail to sign other transfer targets. So Pochettino should have some replacements in mind and here are three players he can sign to replace Dier this summer.
Matias Vecino (Fiorentina)
The Uruguayan midfielder is one of the most established players in Serie A at the moment and he had a stellar time for Fiorentina last season. At 25, he has gathered great experience at the highest level and though he has no previous experience of the Premier League, has all the attributes that can make him a hit in England. He has already been linked with a move to Spurs and Pochettino could see him as a cheap replacement for Dier in the squad.
Fabinho (AS Monaco)
A not so cheap replacement for the Dier is another Manchester United target, Fabinho. The versatile Brazilian star is among the best defensive midfielders, not just in France but also in Europe. He can do a similar job as a full-back and Pochettino will love to have his dynamism in his squad, next season. He is expensive but the sale of Dier should be enough to make him a Spurs player this summer.
William Carvalho (Sporting CP)
The Portuguese midfielder has been constantly linked with a move to England for some time now but none of the top teams in the Premier League have been able to lure him away from his home country. However, if Spurs lose Dier this summer, they will have a need to fill the void quickly and might be tempted to spend on Carvalho, who is almost a like to like replacement for the English midfielder. At just 25, he fits Pochettino’s system perfectly and could be the best replacement for Dier in the market.
