Chinese Super League outfit Tianjin Quanjian are desperate for his signature and are ready to meet his valuation. Here are three ready-made replacements for the Spanish striker if he decides to leave for China:
Romelu Lukaku (Everton)
The Belgian striker was just short of Harry Kane in the run in for the Golden Boot this season and has been in tremendous form for the Merseyside outfit. He has 25 goals to his name in the domestic league and is looking for Champions League football. He was once a Chelsea star, who was deemed surplus to requirements but if the Blues lose Costa this summer, Lukaku could be the perfect replacement. At just 24, he is a genuine star for the future.
Andrea Belotti (Torino)
The Italian sensation is among the most productive players in Europe this season. With 27 goals and 6 assists in all competitions, he has helped Torino to a respectable finish in the Serie A and has been extensively linked with an exit. He might possibly cost a world record fee, thanks to the number of years left on his contract. However, if Chelsea do sell Costa, they will hardly have to spend anything over the top for Belotti’s services this summer.
Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid)
The French star is easily the best player in his position in Europe at the moment. He has been in tremendous form for the Spanish outfit and took them to the semi-final of the Champions League this season. He has recently spoken about quitting Atletico Madrid and though his comments favour a move to Manchester, he could be tempted to be the talisman at Stamford Bridge. He will walk into the first team at Chelsea and would be a welcome addition.
