Three Alternatives For Cristiano Ronaldo Who Manchester United Can Consider

Manchester United fans were give a license to dream, after reports suggested that Portuguese international Cristiano Ronaldo is ready to quit the Spanish capital this summer. After winning 9 trophies in just over 13 months, Ronaldo was hit by a tax fraud allegation, which has angered him to such an extent that he wants to quit the country.

Reports suggest that Ronaldo has told the club and his agent that he does not want to stay in Spain anymore and Sky Sports have claimed that he is ready for a move back to Old Trafford. But it is likely that Real will hold out for a fee that is more than double the world record amount. Though United might be ready to pay that, they must think of the repercussions and should look elsewhere. Here are three alternatives for Cristiano Ronaldo who Manchester United can target.

Kylian Mbappe (AS Monaco)

The French sensation is just growing in confidence and has shown everyone that he is ready for the European stage of football. He is breaking records by the day and is easily the best young attacker on show in Europe at the moment. Real Madrid have already had a €130m bid rejected for him and United might have to make a bigger bid than that. But he is going to be cheaper than Ronaldo and Mourinho should look at him as a possible option this summer.

Gareth Bale (Real Madrid)

The Welsh winger has not been able to keep himself injury-free for even one season in his three years now at Bernabeu and missed a number of games last season as well, which saw him fall down the pecking order under Zinedine Zidane. Though he still belongs to Zidane’s plans, Bale could be sold if the right price is offered and Manchester United would be better off spending on the 27-year old, who has more years left in him than the Portuguese star. He will also cost less than Cristiano and could be a game changer at Old Trafford.

Neymar Jr (Barcelona)

The Barcelona man is currently settled at the Camp Nou and there is no talk of an exit recently but Neymar has always been tracked by Manchester United and the recent developments regarding Ronaldo might push them to make a deal for the Brazilian star. Leaving Lionel Messi and Camp Nou will not be easy for Neymar to do but Mourinho should convince him of his position at Old Trafford, which might tempt him to England.
