Forget Costa – It Is Time Tottenham Look To Sign Any Of These 3 Super Alternatives Including This Roma Star

Douglas Costa

Three Players Tottenham Can Target Instead Of Douglas Costa

Mauricio Pochettino has built a squad at the White Hart Lane that can go on to build a legacy for years to come. They have been one of the most consistent sides in England since the start of the previous season but have nothing to show for it yet. Pochettino wants to change it and is looking to sign some serious talent this summer. One player who has been constantly linked with a move to the Lane is Bayern Munich’s Douglas Costa.

The Brazilian winger has found limited game time at the Allianz Arena and this has seen him get linked with an exit. Tottenham have already expressed their interest but there is no guarantee of luring a top player away from a top club like Bayern Munich. After all, Football is all about unexpected happenings, isn’t it? So here we’ve come up with 3 alternatives who Tottenham can target in case they miss out on Douglas Costa.

Ross Barkley (Everton)

The versatile English star is one of the most exciting players in his position in the country. He was given loads of freedom by Koeman this season and has been productive. However, he is yet to sign a new deal with the Merseyside club and might be up for sale. Spurs are already monitoring his situation and if they miss out on the Bayern star, they can look at this Everton midfielder to add to their squad.

Mohamed Salah (AS Roma)

Though he is not as good as Douglas Costa, former Chelsea winger Salah is one of the most influential players in Europe at the moment. He has been in tremendous form this season, helping Roma to a place in the Champions League but has been constantly linked with an exit, with the likes of Liverpool being interested. His pace and energy will surely make the Spurs a force to reckon with.

Riyad Mahrez (Leicester City)

The former PFA player of the year, Mahrez has had a mediocre season by his standards. He has failed to show any consistency for the Foxes and could not help them to finish even in the top half of the table. With not much to look forward to at the King Power next season, he may be tempted to make a move this summer with Arsenal and Spurs interested in his signature. He has shown what he is capable of and playing alongside some high-quality players might bring back the best out of him.
