Forget Arnautovic – These two top-class stars would go a long way in leading the line for West Ham hereafter

West Ham opinion: Two replacements for Marko Arnautovic

Marko Arnuatovic has now left the Hammers for China. Lucas Perez and Andy Carroll have also left the club, leaving just Javier Hernandez to lead the line after the Mexican international signed a new contract.

The Mexican has great Pedro green and experience in the Premier League and European completion, having won titles won major titles at Manchester United and playing for the likes of Real Madrid and Bayer Leverkusen.

Marko Arnautovic was West Ham’s talisman for the last two years and while Chicharito is a great option for any team due to his predatory instincts and constant movement, he cannot be the only one leading the line for West Ham.

West Ham have linked with a lot of strikers and are willing to make it their most important signing as Manuel Pellegrini will believe that this could be the missing piece in his squad. Two of the forwards that they’ve been linked with heavily are Maxi Gomez of Celta Vigo and Sebastien Haller of Eintracht Frankfurt.

Let’s discuss who is the better option:

Sebastien Haller

The Frenchman has been outstanding in the last 2 seasons for Frankfurt. The man mountain is an absolute tank in the forward line, who uses his fantastic link-up play and call control to hold up play and set up his teammates.

He is also a very reliable goalscorer having scored 20 goals in all completions and assisting 12. With Ante Rebic and Luka Jovic, he formed one of the most frightening front-3s in Europe.

Maxi Gomez

Gomez has been a real threat in the last few years and scored 13 goals last season for Celta Vigo. Gomez is next in the production line of great Uruguayan forwards.

Like his contemporaries in Diego Forlan, Luis Suarez and Edinson Cavani, a lot is expected of Gomez. He has the aggression and tenacity to match those mentioned above and still has a lot of development left in him.

The 22-year-old Uruguayan has a €50m buyout clause and West Ham will have to trigger it if they want to get him.

Conclusion

Haller’s creativity and goalscoring ability make him a larger threat and this could go down as one of the best signings of the summer.

Haller was simply one of the best forwards in Europe last season, which can’t be said of Gomez. He would improve most of the top sides in Europe with his various abilities.
