Forget Aguero – Here Are 3 Superstars Who Can Succeed The Argentine At Man City, Including This Tottenham Phenomenon

Sergio Aguero (L)

Manchester City were dealt a huge blow after it was revealed that their star striker Sergio Aguero was involved in an unfortunate accident, that will now keep him out of football for close to a month. The Argentine already has a hat-trick and six goals to his name this season in the domestic league and has re-established himself as one of the best in England.

Currently 29, Aguero is expected to continue his goal-scoring form for not more than two years and if Pep Guardiola wants his side to keep scoring goals at this rate, he will have to find a decent replacement for him in the long-term, that can take his place straight away. Here are three such long-term replacements the manager should look at sooner than later:

Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid)

The French goal-scoring machine is expected to quit the Metropolitano at the end of the current season and there will be a number of clubs who will fight for his signature in the summer. Manchester City are sure to be involved in the tussle and have a good chance of landing him. With funds hardly an issue, if City decide that they need to replace Aguero this summer, Griezmann is probably their best bet. Matching Aguero toe to toe at the highest level, the 26-year old is right up there with the best and will be a sensational addition at the Etihad.

Harry Kane (Tottenham Hotspur)

Though not an easy deal to pull-off, Manchester City should look to sign English ace Harry Kane and his goal-scoring prowess if they are in danger of losing Aguero anytime soon. With incredible numbers to his name and two Golden Boots in the last two years, Kane is easily the best English striker and one of the best in Europe. He is only going to get better in a team like City and under Pep Guardiola and though he may cost a fortune and will not be easy to lure out of London, is more than a worthy investment and a sensational replacement for the Argentine.

Timo Werner (RB Leipzig)

RB Leipzig’s German goal-scoring machine Timo Werner is fast growing into a sensational striker in the Bundesliga. With 5 goals and an assist already this season, the 21-year old is only getting better as a player and the likes of Liverpool, Barcelona and Real Madrid are already interested in his services. Growing to be the first-choice striker for his national side, Werner is a versatile player who will assure you goals wherever he plays. He will not take time to adjust to the English conditions or Guardiola’s style of play and could be a more than able replacement for Aguero in the long-term.
