Predicted Liverpool Lineup To Face Middlesbrough

Jurgen Klopp will be ecstatic with the way his side have responded in the top-4 race, winning each of their last 4 away games in the league. They won against West Ham in London in the previous round and are just a couple of points away from stepping into the Champions Leauge next season.

They are closely followed by Arsenal, who are just a point behind them at 5th place but the Reds have a great chance to seal things away as they play an already relegated Middlesbrough side in the final game of the season. Klopp will want his side to take all three points and get the job done.

Team News

The Reds are still without skipper Jordan Henderson and attackers Sadio Mane and Danny Ings. Roberto Firmino, who missed the previous game, is still doubtful for this tie while Lucas Leiva is back fit and may find a place on the bench.

Probable Liverpool XI:

Formation: 4-3-3

Manager: Jurgen Klopp

GK – Simon Mignolet

The Belgian has been a completely new player since the arrival of Loris Karius and he should start this game for Liverpool.

RB – Nathaniel Clyne

The first choice right-back for Liverpool, Clyne has been effective recently and will be a constant threat to Boro on the flank.

CB – Joel Matip

The summer arrival has put in some strong performances and deserves to start this game as he has been the most consistent defender in the side.

CB – Dejan Lovren

The former Southampton man has been inconsistent this season but will hope to have a comfortable game against an already-relegated opposition.

LB – James Milner

The skipper of the side in the absence of Henderson, Milner has not been able to create too many chances recently but will have to do so in the final game of the season.

CM – Emre Can

The German midfielder is currently at the top of his game and is a player to watch out for. An assured starter.

CM – Adam Lallana

Lallana started his first game after a while in the victory over West Ham last weekend and is expected to keep his place in the side.

CM – Geroginio Wijnaldum

The Dutch midfielder has done extremely well to keep Liverpool’s midfield running and will have his work cut out against a decent side in Boro.

RW – Divock Origi

With Firmino still not back to full fitness, Klopp is expected to stick with the young and dynamic Divock Origi for this game.

LW – Philippe Coutinho

The man of the match in the previous game, Coutinho will have a huge role to play if Liverpool are to win this match comfortably.

ST – Daniel Sturridge

Just like last season, Sturridge, who missed a chunk of this campaign too, is expected to start Liverpool’s final game of the season.

This is how Liverpool could line up:
