Financial Fair Play Mode : “Activated!!” First Case of FFP sees 23 Clubs warned by UEFA

FFP is here! 23 Clubs including Malaga, Atletico Madrid, and Fenerbahce have had their prize money for European competitions withheld. Each club has their own case of overdue payables, and have to update The Uefa Club Financial Control Body of the situation by September 30! The clubs, all participating in 2012/13 UEFA club competitions, were found to have overdue payments to other teams, their own employees or social/tax authorities and their prize money from this season’s Champions League or Europa League could be stopped because of these overdue payments up to the end of June.

UEFA approved the introduction of the far-reaching financial fair play rules in 2009 in a bid to reduce debt and introduce better and more transparent financial dealings among clubs playing in its competitions.

Transfer fees and outgoing payments have been monitored since the start of the 2011/12 season with clubs tasked with breaking even in 2012 and 2013 and being assessed during the 2013/14 season.

The 23 clubs who have seen their price money for European competitions withheld for breaching Financial Fair Play are: Borac Banja Luka, Sarajevo, Zeljeznicar ,CSKA Sofia, Hajduk Spli, Osijek, Atletico Madrid, Malaga, Maccabi Netanya, Shkendija 79, Floriana, Buducnost Podgorica, Rudar Pjevlja, Ruch Chorzow , Sporting CP, Dinamo Bucharest, Rapid Bucharest, Vaslui, Rubin Kazan, Partizan, Vojvodina, Eskisehirspor, Fenerbahce.
