Finally Michael Owen Has Something Good To Say About Arsenal

From the likes of Paul Scholes, Rio Ferdinand, David Beckham, Michael Owen joins the list of footballers who have heaped praise on Arsenal’s new signing Danny Welbeck.

The former Manchester United striker, who has been at Old Trafford throughout his career went down the pecking order ever since Robin van Persie’s arrival at the club and his development as a first team striker was severely hampered. Having had to settle for substitute appearances and playing in out of positions last season, Welbeck’s transfer to Arsenal have been seen as a right move by many of United’s former players and have nothing but praises on Danny Welbeck.

Michael Owen, who has always been critical about Arsenal, has appreciated the Gunners’ move for Welbeck and thinks that he is a very good buy.

“He has always had doubters and I can understand why but I have always been a big fan of Danny’s.

“A lot of the time when Danny did play he played on the left or on the right but, as his England record suggests, when he is played in the middle he can certainly score goals.

“I think he is a pretty good buy for Arsenal. They are the big winners here, with Danny himself. I can see him really improving.

“With Arsenal I think he will be given that chance to play in the middle and I think it could be one of the signings of the summer.”
