Carrick To Start – Strongest 4-2-3-1 Manchester United Line-up To Face Tottenham

Manchester United

Predicted Manchester United Lineup To Face Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United managed to put in a strong performance in one of the most important games of their season when they managed to put their feet into the final of the Europa League on Thursday. They have a great chance to go all the way and lift the trophy but Mourinho will want his side to put in a strong performance in the league as well. They have just 3 games left in the season and face Tottenham at the White Hart Lane in their next league game this weekend.

Tottenham are healing from a loss to West Ham United away from home and are out of the title race. They will want to finish the season on a high and will hope to spoil United’s time.

Team News

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw and Ashley Young may not play for the club again this season. But they remain the only injury issues for United, going into this game. Eric Bailly’s red card against Celta Vigo does not have any effect on his availability for this game.

Probable Manchester United XI:

Formation: 4-2-3-1

Manager: Jose Mourinho

GK – David de Gea:

With Sergio Romero used in the Europa League constantly, De Gea should keep his place in the first team for this game.

RB – Antonio Valencia

Though Mourinho would want to rest him, he is the only option in this position and is expected to start this game.

CB – Chris Smalling

Eric Bailly was superb in the previous game for United and he should be rested, giving Smalling a chance in this game.

CB – Phil Jones

The English star has failed to get back into the plans of the manager recently but he should partner Smalling at the back for this game.

LB – Daley Blind

Put in a solid performance as a centre back in the previous game and is expected to fill in at left-back giving Matteo Darmian a break.

CM – Michael Carrick

Played less than 10 minutes of the Europa League tie and is expected to start this game for United in the midfield.

CM – Paul Pogba

The Frenchman should start alongside Carrick for this league tie. He was a brilliant against Celta Vigo and should perform at his best against a Tottenham side who are in rich vein of form if United are to beat Pochettino’s men.

LW – Wayne Rooney

The English attacker has been in decent form recently and he will have to be at his best for United to take anything from this game.

CAM – Juan Mata

The Spaniard has been magical whenever he has been used by Mourinho and he should get a chance to play against this strong Tottenham team.

RW – Jesse Lingard

The youngster has been effective in recent games and will hope to get the better of Ben Davies in this all important game for Manchester United.

ST – Marcus Rashford

The youngster was the first player to be withdrawn in the game against Celta and is expected to lead the attack for Manchester United in this tie.
