Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 29 Preview

Gameweek 29 is going to be a quite a challenge for the Fantasy Premier League managers to field a playing eleven as there are only six games this week, with the other teams scheduled to play the FA Cup.

The only game which will garner some interest among the managers is the clash between Liverpool and Spurs. The mid week match between Spurs and Inter once again highlighted the importance of Gareth Bale in the Tottenham side and it they will be definitely be looking forward to their magnificent midfielder to overcome the challenges from the Reds on Sunday.

Coutinho could be vital this week

Jermaine Defoe also looked impressive during the game against Inter and his 7.9% owners would be monitoring his situation with keen interest. Liverpool, on the other hand will get a boost as Sturridge is expected to return to the squad after missing the previous game with an injury. Luis Suarez is again going to be the main man for Liverpool and their fate would largely depend on the form shown by their prolific striker. Fantasy Premier League managers would keep an eye on the latest Brazilian recruit of Liverpool, Phillippe Coutinho.

He has been very striking so far and if his good run of form continues, soon he will be a hot Fantasy asset, with a modest price tag of £6.6m. But before he is being given a place in the team, it should be made sure that he is regularly features in the first team and plays in positions from where he can cause quite damage to the opposition.

The other important match this weekend is the game involving Swansea and West Brom. All eyes would be on Michu, who has proved to be a disappointment for his owners in the past two weeks and this time they would really want him back in his goal scoring mode. His job may not be any easy as West Brom are currently in a good run of form and provided Lukaku makes some early damage to the Swans, Michu would really find it hard to march his team to a victory.

Newcastle were a big surprise when they held Anzhi to a goalless draw on Thursday and the team which started the season disastrously has found quite a bit of form lately. Stoke are at the lowest point now with just one win in the nine previous games and if things do not change fast their slump is going to continue further. Thus the odds favour Newcastle for this tie and the likes of Sissoko and Cabaye should have it easy against the Potters. Thus if you have two transfers left, Sissoko, with a price of £6.6m, is definitely one of the most valid options for you. In another positive sign for Newcastle, Ben Arfa has made his comeback and it should not be long enough before this stylish French player again starts making the fast runs and frightening the oppositions with his skills. Fantasy Premier League managers, keep an watch!
