Rangers romped to a 7-1 victory against Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership as Steven Gerrard’s men moved to just two points behind Celtic at the top of the table. Scott Arfield opened the scoring early but Curtis Main leveled the score quickly after.
Carl McHugh was then dismissed just before the break which saw James Tavernier convert from the spot. Gerrard’s men then took control of the game and took it to the next level. Alfredo Morelos, Glenn Middleton, Scott Arfield and a double from Eros Grezda sent Motherwell packing and completed the Rangers’ eighth home win in the last nine games.
Made a couple of saves early on but was unable to do anything about the goal they conceded. However, Rangers took control from then on.
Best player on the night. Defended tirelessly and converted his penalty from the spot. Tavernier has looked brilliant under Steven Gerrard.
Katic was solid throughout the game. He was initially troubled but otherwise came through. Was substituted at half-time though.
Alongside Katic, Worrall defended fruitfully. The defensive pairing seems to work well together.
Showed good work rate throughout the game. He caused all sorts of problems and stretched the Motherwell defenders out of their position.
Moved the ball swiftly in the middle of the park and didn’t slow the play down in transition. Always offered defensive support.
Scored two superb goals and caused all sorts of issues down the right flank.
Arfield scored a brace as well and created a number of opportunities. The midfielder should now maintain consistency in his displays.
Was unfortunate not to get on the scoresheet but linked up well with his teammates.
The youngster took his chance and converted it duly. He looked a threat throughout the game.
Morelos continues his fine form in front of the goal as he keeps getting better under Steven Gerrard. The striker is the focal point and the main source of threat in this team.
Did well defensively after coming on at half-time.
Made a couple of dangerous runs and was unfortunate not to find the back of the net.
Showed some nice touches and used his pace well but he didn’t have much to do given the game was already done and dusted.
