Fantastic Mahrez – The Best And The Worst Rated Leicester Players From The 1-1 Draw vs West Brom

Full Time: Leicester City 1-1 West Bromwich Albion

Leicester City eked out a point against Tony Pulis’ West Bromwich Albion, as a late goal from Riyad Mahrez helped them draw 1-1 against the Baggies at the King Power Stadium, on Monday night.

After an hour long of football with no goals scored, a Nacer Chadli free-kick put the visitors ahead in the 63rd minute and it looked like West Brom would walk away with the three points. But Mahrez pulled the Foxes back on level terms with ten minutes left to play and ensured his side got at least a point from the game.

The result means Craig Shakespeare’s side continue to be in the relegation zone, at the 18th place, with 6 points from 8 Premier League games.

Here’s how the Leicester players fared on the night:

Leicester City Player Ratings

Kasper Schmeichel – 5/10

The Dane had a rare poor game as he was beaten easily by a free-kick from 30 yards out and his distribution from the back was found wanting too.

Danny Simpson – 6.5/10

Making his 100th appearance for the club, the right-back was solid as usual at the back and helped the Foxes keep things tight.

Wes Morgan – 6.5/10

Had a physical battle on hands with Salomon Rondon and fared well against the Venezuelan. Not much to deal with.

Harry Maguire – 7/10

With the Baggies offering very little in terms of attacking threat, the England international did not have a whole lot to do. Carried the ball out from the back well.

Christian Fuchs – 7/10

The Austrian continued his consistent run of performance with another steady display at left-back. Could not have the usual impact getting forward though.

Riyad Mahrez – 7/10

Missed a sitter from eight yards out, but redeemed himself with a well-taken goal late in the game to rescue a point for the Foxes.

Vicente Iborra – 6/10

Made his first league start of the season and fared decently. Shielded the ball well in the middle of the park.

Wilfred Ndidi – 6.5/10

Battled hard in the midfield and won the most number of tackles in the game by any player (7). Was important in stifling the opponents.

Marc Albrighton – 7/10

Was his usual hard-working self, down the left flank and created a number of good opportunities, which went begging. Was booked.

Kelechi Iheanacho – 5/10

The former Manchester City man struggled to get into the game throughout. Gave away the free-kick for the Baggies’ goal. Was booked.

Jamie Vardy – 6/10

Made some threatening runs in behind the Baggies backline, but the service wasn’t often there for him to thrive upon.

Substitutes

Ben Chilwell – 6.5/10

Replaced Simpson in the 74th minute. Played a role in the equaliser, sending in a good cross that was headed down for Mahrez to pounce upon.

Islam Slimani – 6.5/10

Replaced Iheanacho for the final 15 minutes. Got the assist for Mahrez’s goal, as he knocked down Chilwell’s cross into Mahrez’s path.

Andy King – N/A

Came on for Iborra deep into injury time.
