Fantastic Ibe, Brilliant King – The best and the worst rated Bournemouth players vs Burnley

Bournemouth came back from a goal down to beat Burnley 2-1 at the Turf Moor on the final day of the 2017/18 Premier League campaign.

With just a little over five minutes left to be played in the first period, the Clarets pinched the lead, as an Ashley Westwood strike deflected off record signing Chris Wood and ended up in the back of the net.

Bournemouth did manage to restore parity in the 74th minute, courtesy of a fine finish from Josh King and deep into the injury time, substitute Callum Wilson sealed the victory for the Cherries, slotting comfortably past Nick Pope in the Burnley goal.

Bournemouth Player Ratings

Asmir Begovic – 7/10

The former Chelsea goalkeeper made a couple of decent saves on the day. Not a lot he could do about the goal that was conceded as he was caught wrong-footed by the deflection from Woods.

Asmir Begovic

Steve Cook – 6.5/10

A solid presence at the back for the Cherries. The Englishman won the most number of headers on the day (6) and soldiered on.

Nathan Ake – 6/10

Had a headed effort blocked in the second period. Did most things right in the centre of the three-man backline for the Cherries.

Tyrone Mings – 6/10

Making his first start since September, the defender looked quite steady and solid for the visitors until an injury forced him off the field in the second half.

Ryan Fraser – 6.5/10

Looked lively down the right flank as he used his pace to good effect to try and stretch the Clarets’ defence. Was reliable in his defensive duties too.

Emerson Hyndman – 5/10

The 22-year-old midfielder, making his first Premier League appearance of the season, had little effect on the game and was the first player to be taken off as the Cherries looked for a way back into the game.

Charlie Daniels

Andrew Surman – 6/10

The former Norwich City midfielder was solid in the middle of the park, if not spectacular. Won a fair share of his tackles and headers, adding a steely presence.

Charlie Daniels – 6.5/10

Looked positive each time he got on the ball and his passing was crisp for most parts. Set up the equaliser for King in the second half.

Lys Mousset – 6/10

The French forward had an effort saved early in the game by Nick Pope but did little after that moment. Was taken off for Wilson.

Jordon Ibe – 8.5/10

The former Liverpool man was a real nuisance for the Clarets with his pace and sharp movement in the final third. Had a decent effort on goal saved and created a few chances for his teammates.

Joshua King would be a good signing for Newcastle
Joshua King

Josh King – 8/10

Like Ibe, the Norwegian forward was a bright influence for the visitors in the attacking third with his speed and incision. Brought his team back into the game with a well-taken goal.

Substitutes

Callum Wilson – 7/10

On for Mousset in the 59th minute. Produced a superb effort from 25 yards out, which struck the outside of the post and bounced out of play in the 89th minute. Sealed the win soon after, with a straightforward finish.

Dan Gosling – 6/10

Replaced Hyndman in the 59th minute. Kept things ticking.

Jermain Defoe – 7/10

Came on for Mings in the 66th minute. The Cherries looked dangerous with him on the field. Did brilliantly to set up the winning goal for Wilson.
