Liverpool player ratings vs Watford

It wasn’t a typical Jurgen Klopp performance from Liverpool but they managed to pick up a 3-0 win against Watford at Vicarage Road. The game was balanced out after the first half before Mohamed Salah eventually found the back of the net to open the scoring.

Trent Alexander-Arnold then curled in a superb free-kick into the top corner in what has been a special two weeks for the youngster. Roberto Firmino then placed the icing on the cake with a third final goal which should bode well for the Brazilian’s confidence as well.

Watford did threaten on a few occasions and saw a goal ruled out for offside but they will definitely rue the missed chances.

Here we take a look at how the Liverpool stars fared in their win over Watford.

Liverpool Player Ratings

Alisson Becker (8/10)

Played a nervy pass for Firmino which he was fortunate to get way with. The Brazilian made a superb save from Roberto Pereyra’s close range effort.

Trent Alexander-Arnold (8/10)

Alexander-Arnold defended dutifully and curled in a sublime free-kick into the top corner. The youngster was brilliant today.

Virgil Van Dijk (7/10)

Nothing too flashy but a solid performance from the Dutchman who has rarely a bad moment.

Dejan Lovren (7/10)

Was slightly troubled by Gerard Deulofeu at times but he ultimately did well and came through on the night.

Dejan Lovren

Andrew Robertson (7/10)

Bombared up and down, supplying a number of crosses into the box. He defended well on the night as well.

Georginio Wijnaldum (6/10)

Worked hard on the night and played a crucial role in the first goal. A much better performance from the Dutchman.

Jordan Henderson (4/10)

Seemed like he was almost asking for the red card. Apart from spraying a few simple passes, the captain didn’t do much.

Xherdan Shaqiri (6/10)

The Swiss international always looked dangerous on the ball. He was unfortunate not to pick up an assist on the night. Shaqiri sent in a couple of decent crosses as well.

Xherdan Shaqiri

Mohamed Salah (7/10)

Not the most menacing performance from Salah, who took his chance well. He has maintained his scoring form though and caused all sorts of problems with his pace.

Roberto Firmino (6/10)

Linked up well as always and worked hard to track back as well. He scored a goal which should raise his confidence.

Sadio Mane (7/10)

Looked dangerous and drew a really good save from Ben Foster. Picked out Salah well for the goal.

Substitutes

James Milner (5/10)

Came on and toiled hard in the middle of the park. He ensured the Reds saw out the win.

Fabinho (5/10)

Made a few simple passes and provided more stability in the midfield.
