Full Time: Celtic 2-0 Hearts
Celtic finished their Scottish Premiership campaign unbeaten after they beat Hearts 2-0 at the Celtic Park on Sunday.
The first half finished with no goals, but the Hoops went ahead a little into the second period through a bullet header from Leigh Griffiths after good work from Patrick Roberts on the right-flank. Stuart Armstrong made it 2-0 fifteen minutes from full-time to seal the game.
Here are the player ratings for the Bhoys:
Celtic Player Ratings
Craig Gordon – 7/10
Had almost nothing to do for most parts of the game. Made a smart stop to deny Malaury Martin late in the game.
Cristian Gamboa – 5/10
Started the second game in succession, decent outing. Did not offer a great deal going forward. Replaced at half-time by Tom Rogic.
Jozo Simunovic – 7/10
Returned to the line-up in place of Erik Sviatchenko and had a solid game. Strong in tackles, alert at the back.
Dedryck Boyata – 7.5/10
Another fine game for the centre-back. Forced an excellent save from the Hearts custodian with a header from a corner. Gave one needless foul away, but solid apart from that.
Kieran Tierney – 7/10
Came very close to opening the scoring in the first-half from 20 yards out. Was on the receiving end of a poor challenge, came out unscathed though. Hard working display.
Scott Brown – 7/10
Bossed the central midfield area as he does always. Broke up play, kept things ticking, helping his team stay on the front foot.
Stuart Armstrong – 7/10
Not as influential as he has been in recent times, but scored the all-important second goal – his 16th of the season.
Patrick Roberts – 9/10
Put on a starring display on what was his last game at the Parkhead. A jinking run and lovely pick-out for Griffiths for the opener. Class above the rest.
Callum McGregor – 6/10
Did not impact the game a great deal, but linked play well with his smart movement in the final third.
Scott Sinclair – 6/10
Was closely watched by the Hearts’ defence and as a result couldn’t have the effect that he would have liked to. Still played a role in the second goal.
Leigh Griffiths – 7/10
Came close with a clever free-kick in the first period, opened the scoring with a strong header.
Substitutes
Tom Rogic – 6/10
Replaced Gamboa at half-time and did a good job.
Kolo Toure – NA
Replaced Simunovic late on. Not a lot to deal with.
Erik Sviatchenko – NA
Came on for Armstrong for the final few minutes.
