Excellent Mitrovic, Fantastic Cairney – The best and worst-rated players as Fulham beat Sheffield United 3-0

Fulham cruised to a 3-0 victory to extend their unbeaten run and put pressure on the sides above them in the race for automatic promotion. In the first half, Fulham were too hot for Sheffield United to handle as Stefan Johansen tested the United keeper twice before Aleksandar Mitrovic scored after the first half-hour.

Eventually, he doubled the Fulham advantage just before halftime. Sheffield United offered little and the home side had 69% possession in the first 45. In the second half, Tom Cairney finished off the game with a fine goal after good work from substitute Lucas Piazon.

Fulham Player Ratings

Marcus Bettinelli – 7

Only had 2 shots on target to deal with, was never under pressure.

Ryan Fredericks – 7.5

A nice assist for the first goal and he got forward a lot against a team that tried to sit deep. An impressive performance in an impressive team.

Tim Ream – 7

Lead the team from the centre of the defence but didn’t have too much work at hand. In fact, he spent much more time looking forward rather than backwards.

Tim Ream

Denis Odoi – 7

Looked calm and relaxed on the ball and was solid defensively. Will be very happy with another clean sheet for his side.

Matt Targett – 7.5

Got up and down the wing well and put pressure on the away side’s defence. Slotted in so well since his arrival from Southampton.

Tom Cairney – 9

Scored the third goal to seal the match for Fulham. He is such a classy player and has been in great form. When he plays well, Fulham play well.

Tom Cairney

Kevin McDonald – 7

Another solid performance in the middle of the pitch. He breaks up play very well and then feeds the ball to his teammates.

Stefan Johansen – 8

Had a really good game supporting Mitrovic and could have grabbed a couple of goals himself. An impressive player going under the radar at Fulham.

Sheyi Ojo – 7

His pace was a problem for the Sheffield United defence at several points throughout the game but was replaced on 59 minutes by Lucas Piazon.

Aleksandar Mitrovic – 9

Got two goals before halftime and was a constant threat. His scoring record in the Championship is very impressive, and he had a chance to get a hat-trick at one point but will be pleased with his night’s work.

Ryan Sessegnon – 7

Not his best night in a Fulham shirt, but started the break for the third goal and offers a lot for a player so young. Not too many moments to put on the highlight real.

Ryan Sessegnon

Substitutes

Lucas Piazon – 7

Got an assist minutes after coming on, nice cameo.

Oliver Norwood – 6.5

Showed a few flashes but is much more defensive-minded than the player he replaced, Stefan Johansen.

Rui Fonte – N/A

Only really brought on to give Mitrovic a standing ovation.
