The European championship is underway in France and all the nations competing in the tournament will be looking to win it. There are a lot of top players competing from various leagues from the continent and possibly playing in other parts of the world as well. It will be interesting to see how the players from various different clubs, some even bitter rivals, combine together to perform at the top level.
Though the European tournament is obviously not as big as the World Cup, it is like a rehearsal for the main competition that shall be played in a couple of years time. Many champions of this competition further went on to win the biggest cup title that the world football has to offer.
This is the value of the tournament, not just for the players, but the managers as well. A lot of young talented players are given the opportunity to showcase their skills in the competition, who are later bid for by the top clubs from most leagues.
This has been a trend over the years due to which the players look to put in a solid display as well. One such player who will want to make an impact for his national side this time would be Croatia’s Ante Coric.
The 19 year old attacking midfielder is currently with Dinamo Zagreb in his native country and has already represented his country at such a young age. Though he has just represented his national team at the top level twice, he is also a part of their U-21 squad.
Further, the star has made a total of 67 appearances for Zagreb, scoring 20 times since making his debut for the first team back in 2014. He has great shooting ability and is good with either feet, something which is unique still.
The player is not exactly a renowned goal scorer, but a player-maker rather, who has good dribbling skills, pace and tricks up his bag. He is a very creative midfielder who puts in a lot of effort in every game.
Though, he is not too strong with respect to aerial balls, he does a decent job for his side. Keeping that in mind, a lot of the top clubs from various competitions, including the Premier League and especially Liverpool might want to sign up after the Euro 2016 tournament concludes.
At such a tender age, the player could have a long term future in England, if he does make the move sooner rather than later, with a lot of managers now promoting such talented starlets than too many big money transfers. It will be interesting to see which club looks to add him to their squad, which would all depend on how he performs for Ante Cacic’s side.
