Everton signing this on-fire £30m-rated attacker would be a brilliant move to ease their goalscoring woes

Everton Opinion: Why Hakim Ziyech would be a top addition for Everton?

Back in April, the Liverpool Echo claimed Everton were interested in signing Ajax star, Hakim Ziyech. However, the links have cooled down in the last couple of months.

Hakim Ziyech, 26, was on fire for Ajax last season, racking up 21 goals and 24 assists in 49 appearances in all competitions. He played a key role in Ajax’s run to the semi-finals of the Champions League, polishing his credentials further.

The report adds that Ajax value the Moroccan at £30m. After such a stunning season in the Eredivisie and for a bargain price, Everton cannot afford to miss out on Ziyech and go all out to land the versatile attacker ahead of the 2019/20 campaign.

The Toffees have made some additions to their squad this summer, as Marco Silva aims to build on last season’s strong finish. Everton are thought to have funds to spend and Silva last month claimed that his club are looking to sign an established right winger before the start of the new season.

Theo Walcott had an underwhelming 2018/19 campaign with the Merseysiders, while Ademola Lookman is expected to leave the club this summer.

That means Silva needs to bring in a creative right winger that can consistently supply with assists and goals. That being said, if Silva does manage to bring Ziyech to Goodison Park, it could turn out to be a signing of real significance for Everton.

Ziyech is truly an elite player, however, and he would surely take the Toffees to another level entirely. The 26-year-old is a right-winger by trade, but he can also operate in central midfield, and that kind of versatility would be a real asset for Silva’s side.

A technically-gifted and tactically-versatile right-winger, the Moroccan international not only has the determination, energy, stamina, work-rate and drive, he also boasts of vision, creativity, agility and awareness to demolish teams.

The former FC Twente man plays with a certain kind of directness that is tailor-made for Silva’s setup at the Goodison Park. He could also strike up a devastating partnership with the likes of Richarlison, Bernard and Gylfi Sigurdsson.

Verdict

Thus, Silva should prioritise signing Ziyech from Ajax this summer to bolster his forward department.
