Everton Opinion – The Toffees should beat their rivals in signature of Victor Camarasa

According to a report in Wales Online (h/t Marca), Cardiff City star Victor Camarasa is a subject of transfer interest of various Premier League clubs. The likes of Tottenham, Everton, West Ham and Leicester City are touted to be keeping a close eye on the midfielder.

The 24-year-old is currently plying his trade for the Welsh side, on loan from Spanish club Real Betis. While Neil Warnock’s men are hoping to sign him on a permanent deal, the move may stall if Cardiff fail to stay in the Premier League. (h/t Wales Online)

As a result, the interest from other top-flight clubs could come in handy to the player. The good thing is that Betis is ready to cash in on the 24-year-old, hence, there is a real possibility that he could stay in England for the seasons to come. (h/t Wales Online)

Here’s why Everton should take centre-stage, make an offer and sign Victor Camarasa in the summer window:

Everton need more substance in central midfield

Despite the upturn in form recently, it is pretty clear Everton have been under-par in their first season under Marco Silva. They are currently 10th in the table, 17 points behind the top-six, a bridge they always aim to bridge and play European football.

Hence, improvements in the squad is a must if the Toffees are to get closer to the coveted top-six teams of this league. One of the areas that requires enhancement is central midfield.

In Andre Gomes and Idrissa Gueye, Everton have two players who could leave Goodison Park in the summer.

While the former is on loan from Barcelona and there are no advancements of whether he will sign a permanent deal, the latter has his sights set on moving to a big club if possible.

Furthermore, even if the duo manage to stay at the club beyond this summer, Everton need more substance in central midfield. Hence, a move for Victor Camarasa wouldn’t be a bad idea.

In his first season at Cardiff, the 24-year-old has been a star for a relegation-threatened side. He has scored five goals and supplied three assists in 26 appearances from central midfield, which is pretty decent.

His ability to play in various roles across midfield makes him quite a key player for the Welsh side. The key pass rate of 1.6 clearly shows that the Real Betis man has the quality to thread through passes to split defences. (Whoscored)

Conclusion

All in all, it is looking pretty obvious why Everton should push for a move to sign Victor Camarasa. The first thing they have to do is to make an offer before any other rival take control of the deal.
